Jackies father seems nervou s on the way ski binding home from fishing and hunting. His father comments on the neighbors wheat face that he has waited too long to collect his wheat and will loose it in the cold, but his father knew nothing of farming. We come to find out that this is not about the farmer, instead is a reflection to his and Jackies mothers marriage. The mother is left at home so often feeling neglected in isolation.
